Clay Pavilion | Wagstaffe, NSW
(IN CONSTRUCTION)
Located on a northeast-facing waterfront site in the small community of Wagstaffe, surrounded by Bouddi National Park, this project was conceived as a long-term home designed to be lived in for life and passed down through generations. The addition introduces a sheltered internal courtyard, creating a private outdoor space protected from wind and from views from the road, passing boats and walkers, while maintaining a strong connection to landscape.

The courtyard becomes the heart of the home, offering a place of calm and retreat from the exposed waterfront conditions. Clay brick, hardwood timber, brass and stone are used in an honest and restrained way, allowing the new work to sit comfortably within its setting and in dialogue with the original Collins Turner–designed house.
Spaces are carefully zoned to support both everyday living and larger gatherings, with moments of openness balanced by opportunities for retreat. As you enter, a large hardwood pivot door reveals the courtyard and the house beyond, creating a gradual sense of arrival and a quiet transition from the outside world — a home that feels settled, grounded and part of its landscape
