Build once. Build well. Live beautifully

We believe in the power of architecture to shape a better future.
With a human-centered approach, we design homes that are sensitive to place.
We are thorough, thoughtful and collaborative with our clients.
We design homes that are beautiful, grounded, and lasting.

WELCOME.

Our mission is to design thoughtful, enduring homes that are shaped by place, light and climate - spaces that feel calm, grounded and deeply connected to their surroundings.

We work closely with our clients to create houses that support the way they live, now and over time, with care, clarity and attention to detail.

  • We are a residential architecture practice based on the Central Coast of NSW, specialising in thoughtful homes that are deeply connected to their place.

The studio brings together careful observation, hands-on building knowledge and a collaborative way of working. Our projects are shaped by landscape, climate and the everyday lives of the people who inhabit them, with an emphasis on calm, material honesty and longevity.

We believe good architecture is quiet and enduring. It supports daily life without calling attention to itself, and it grows richer over time through use, light and living.

  • Our approach is grounded in listening - to our clients, to the site, and to the natural environment.

Each project begins with a deep understanding of place: orientation, climate, landform and context. From there, we work closely with our clients to understand how they live, what they value, and how their home needs to support them now and into the future.

We favour calm, honest materials and carefully considered details, designing homes that feel grounded, comfortable and purposeful. Throughout the process, we provide clear guidance and advocacy, helping our clients navigate decisions with confidence while maintaining a strong focus on quality and buildability.

The result is architecture that feels resolved, generous and deeply connected to its surroundings.

  • We work with clients who value quality, thoughtfulness and a clear, considered process.

Our clients are often families or couples creating long-term homes - people who care deeply about how their home feels to live in, not just how it looks. They appreciate calm, well-resolved design, honest materials and the importance of working with an experienced team.

Many come to us seeking a trusted guide through what can be a complex process. They value having someone who can take the lead, make informed decisions on their behalf, and advocate for quality at every stage - while keeping them supported, informed and at ease.

Our work is best suited to clients who trust the design process, respect craftsmanship, and want a home that is carefully shaped by place, climate and long-term living.

MEET THE FOUNDER.

I’m Anne, the founder and director of Anne Robson Architecture.

My path to architecture began early, through making and building rather than drawings alone. As a child, I spent countless hours restoring vintage cars with my dad, learning to work with my hands and developing a deep appreciation for materials, detail and craftsmanship. At school, I loved woodwork and making things tangible, which naturally led me to study Architectural Drafting, then Sustainable Building Design, followed by a Bachelor of Design (Architecture) and a Master of Architecture.

I’ve always been deeply inspired by the natural world around me. I grew up on Darkinjung Country, surrounded by bush, bay and beach, and that connection to landscape continues to shape both how I live and how I design. I have a deep respect for place and for the built environment, and I’m motivated by the belief that well-designed homes can genuinely help people live well and be well.

Residential architecture is where I feel most at home. I value the intimacy of working closely with clients who are deeply invested in their homes and their lives. I enjoy the collaborative process - understanding families, how they live day to day, and designing homes that respond carefully to climate, site and long-term living.

Working closely with Peter Stutchbury was pivotal in shaping my architectural thinking, grounding my approach in landscape, place and restraint. Spending several years on site building Peters house alongside Jeffrey Broadfield gave me invaluable hands-on construction experience and a deep sensitivity to materials, detailing and how buildings come together in practice - knowledge that continues to inform my work today.

Clients often come to me because they want someone experienced, detail-oriented and calm - someone who will listen carefully, guide them through the process, and advocate for quality at every stage. I’m known for understanding my clients and their families, for my eye for detail, and for making what can feel like a complex process feel clear and manageable.

I live and work on the Central Coast and am raising two children here, deeply connected to the same landscape that continues to inspire my work.
